05 January 2015 New volume peaks in EBA CLEARING’s STEP2 SEPA Services: over 29 million SEPA Credit Transfers were settled on 30th December 2014 and more than 96.5 million SEPA Core Direct Debits were settled on 2nd January 2015. Altogether, EBA CLEARING cleared more than 115 million SEPA payments on 2nd January 2015. The historical peak remains 3rd July 2014 when EBA CLEARING cleared more than 124 million SEPA payments in one day.

01 August 2014Following the successful migration to SEPA, the STEP2 Irish Transfer (IET) Service was closed down yesterday as requested by the community of Irish banks that were direct participants in the service. The STEP2 IET Service was launched in October 2011 to facilitate the progressive migration of the Irish legacy payments to SEPA. 

03 July 2014 In June 2014, EBA CLEARING’s SEDA Service, a mandate alignment service used by Italian banks, witnessed a new volume record with a total of 5.5+ million transactions related to the exchange of mandate-related information. 

03 July 2014 New volume peaks in STEP2 SEPA Services: over 96 million SEPA Core Direct Debits and close to 28 million SEPA Credit Transfers were settled on EBA CLEARING’s STEP2 platform on 1st July 2014. Altogether, EBA CLEARING cleared more than 124 million SEPA payments on that day. 

11 June 2014 EBA CLEARING is preparing to support additional remittance information in SEPA messages processed by its pan-European retail payment system STEP2. 04 March 2014 New volume peaks in STEP2 SEPA Services: over 85 million SEPA Core Direct Debits and close to 25 million SEPA Credit Transfers were settled on EBA CLEARING’s STEP2 platform on 3rd March 2014. 

04 February 2014 On the first business day following the SEPA migration end-date for the Eurozone, EBA CLEARING’s STEP2 system witnessed new volume peaks in its SEPA Services: close to 68 million SEPA Core Direct Debits and over 24 million SEPA Credit Transfers were settled on 3rd February. 

02 January 2014 As of 1st January, the STEP2 third pole is fully available, providing regional resilience and the highest level of operational robustness for the STEP2 SEPA Services. The third pole was implemented on a technical platform using IBM processing facilities and is operated by SIA, the technical operator of STEP2. 

02 January 2014 EBA CLEARING’s STEP2 SCT and SDD Core Services have seen new peak records: On 30th December, the STEP2 SCT Service processed more than 17 million payments while the STEP2 SDD Core Service settled today a total of over 50 million transactions. 

27 December 2013 In December, the eight biggest banks in Estonia successfully completed functional and volume tests that were organised by EBA CLEARING to support them in their preparation to migrate domestic volumes to the STEP2 platform. 

03 December 2013 EBA CLEARING’s STEP2 SCT and SDD Core Services have seen new peak records: On 29th November, STEP2 SCT Service processed more than 12 million payments while the STEP2 SDD Core Service settled a total of 35 million transactions on 2nd December 2013. 

28 November 2013 EBA CLEARING’s STEP2 SDD Core Service has reached a new peak record with 23 million payments processed on 28th November 2013. 

23 November 2013 On 23rd November 2013, the STEP2 third pole testing was successfully completed with a voluntary user test involving five participants. The third pole will be fully activated in January 2014 with a view to providing regional resilience for the STEP2 SEPA Services. 

18 November 2013The STEP2 February 2014 release is now available in the STEP2 Test & Training environment. Banks can test the new release with the support of the Stand-alone Testing Partner (SATP) tool provided by EBA CLEARING. 

15 November 2013 Today, the first banks connected to the STEP2 platform via EBICS (Electronic Banking Internet Communication Standard), which had been successfully implemented on the STEP2 platform. This offers the Direct Participants an additional option for their connection to the STEP2 central system – in addition to SWIFTNet and SIANet. 

04 November 2013On 1st November, the STEP2 SDD Core Service saw a new daily record volume peak with almost 15,000,000 transactions settled on that day.

03 June 2013 EBA CLEARING has successfully implemented the batch processing service level in its STEP2 SDD Services. The batch processing enables banks to submit batches of payments that are already pre-sorted by receiving counterparties. Also, the multiple distribution of direct debit information throughout the day has successfully been introduced. SDD notifications files are now delivered to debtor banks six times a day.

07 March 2013 Four new direct participants are scheduled to join the STEP2 SEPA Services over the next few months: the EBA CLEARING Board has approved the connection of Banque ENI S.A. and Iccrea Banca (both to STEP2 SDD Core and B2B) and Santander Consumer Bank AG (to STEP2 SDD B2B) planned for 8th April 2013 and of the National Bank of Slovakia (to STEP2 SCT and SDD Core) foreseen for 4th November 2013. 

07 January 2013 In December 2012, the STEP2 SEPA Credit Transfer Service witnessed an all-time volume record with 3,159,324 transactions processed on average per day. Over the past 12 months, the daily average volumes have increased by 39 percent. 

19 December 2012 EBA CLEARING announced today that 11 financial institutions, from Italy, France and Luxembourg, have decided to join the MyBank solution for its launch on 25th March 2013, making the MyBank solution available to millions of retail customers and thousands of e-merchants. 31 March 2012 EBA CLEARING successfully completed today the yearly crisis simulation exercise for the STEP2 environment in co-operation with its technology partner SIA and 39 participant banks. 05 December 2011 EBA CLEARING closes down the STEP2 XCT Service as part of the industry's migration to the SEPA instruments. 07 November 2011 In October 2011, the STEP2 SCT Service continued to witness a considerable volume rise, bringing the average number of daily transactions to over 2 million. This constitutes a 57 percent increase compared to the volumes processed by the service at the beginning of the year. 

31 October 2011 EBA CLEARING looks back on a successful first week following the introduction of its new bilateral limit structure in EURO1. Providing participants with more flexibility in adjusting their bilateral limits has led to a better redistribution of liquidity in the system: 3,650 bilateral adjustments took place during the implementation week. 26 May 2010 The EBA CLEARING Company announced today that OTP Bank, Hungary’s largest commercial bank, is joining EURO1, the Company’s real-time clearing and settlement system for financial and commercial single payments in euro. The new EBA CLEARING shareholder is in the process of completing the necessary joining procedures and is scheduled to participate in the EURO1 Service later this year, which will bring the number of EURO1 clearing banks to 67. 26 May 2010 The SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT) Service on EBA CLEARING's PE-ACH platform STEP2 attracted 37 percent more payments from January to April 2010 and broke the mark of 800,000 payments processed in one day on 3rd May. 12 April 2010 Fortis Bank (Nederland) N.V. joined the STEP2 SCT Service today, bringing the number of Direct Participants to 117. 

22 January 2010 Over 100 bank representatives in total attended the roadshows of EBA CLEARING held in Denmark and Sweden on 20th and 21st January. Post crisis, the banks are looking at how to take maximal advantage of the liquidity benefits offered by[EURO1/STEP1]. They are also in the process of organising the migration of their euro traffic to the SEPA instruments, for which EBA CLEARING provides an efficient processing environment on its[STEP2]platform with close to 100 percent reach across Europe.
