Launch of new EBA and EBA CLEARING websites

On Monday, 24th September 2007, the EBA Group launched its two new websites, one for the Euro Banking Association (EBA) and one for EBA CLEARING. Before, only one website had existed for both entities. Changes to the governance framework of the EBA Group and the desire for a clearer distinction of their respective value propositions, many of which are geared towards SEPA, led to the creation of two websites, one for the Association and one for the Clearing Company. The EBA Group used this opportunity to create user-friendly interfaces for both websites and give them a concise overall appearance.

Information on EBA CLEARING and its systems EURO1, STEP1 and STEP2 can now be found at www.ebaclearing.eu. It provides a summary on its historical background and details on its principal clearing and settlement services, including its newest SEPAcompliant services SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT) and SEPA Direct Debit (SDD). News and upcoming events are also available.

The EBA’s new homepage can be accessed under www.abe-eba.eu. It provides information on the Association itself as well as on its latest initiatives, such as the EBA’s Priority Payment Scheme, which enables participating banks to offer urgent, intra-day credit transfers in euro to their customers.

Furthermore, the EBA operates an industry information portal www.ebaportal.eu which serves members and non-members as a knowledge bank on payments matters.
